Editorial Standards

Editorial standards for museum education

Instructor verification

Curators, guides, museum educators and other specialists must substantiate relevant professional experience and any claimed museum affiliation. Approval permits a public educator profile; it is not a blanket institutional endorsement.

Course quality and sources

Lessons should identify learning objectives, cite reliable sources, distinguish established knowledge from debated interpretations, and provide clear accessibility information where possible.

Topic originality and duplicates

Educators should reuse available course categories. If a distinct topic is missing, they may propose it for editorial review. Titles that duplicate existing subjects may be declined, consolidated or differentiated by scope and audience.

Respect for institutional materials and cultural rights

Museum collections or object catalogues are not part of the platform. Instructors must not upload restricted museum photography, confidential materials, sensitive cultural knowledge or copyrighted assets without authorization.

Publication and corrections

New courses and educator profiles are reviewed before public publication. The editorial team may request revisions, suspend materials and assess documented corrections or rights concerns.
