These Terms and Conditions govern your use of Muzelle, available at muzelle.org. By creating an account, buying a membership or using the platform you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.
1. About Muzelle
Muzelle connects learners with independent curators, historians and museum educators who publish video lessons and offer 1-to-1 lessons. We provide the platform; curators are responsible for the content they create. Contact: info@muzelle.org, +237 691 477 330, First Trust Building, Great Soppo, Buea, Cameroon.
2. Who can use Muzelle
You must be at least 16 years old, or have the permission of a parent or guardian. You must give accurate information, keep your login details secure and be responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think your account has been misused.
3. Free courses, memberships and prices
Some courses are free with an account. Premium courses are available with a paid membership (Monthly, Quarterly or Annual). Prices are shown in Central African francs (XAF) at checkout. A membership gives you access for the period you pay for. Unless the checkout page clearly says otherwise, a membership does not renew automatically and ends when the period ends; you can renew by buying again. We may change prices or plans, but a change never affects a period you have already paid for.
4. Payments
Payments are processed by IWOMIPAY using card or MTN Mobile Money. You confirm that you are allowed to use the payment method you choose. A purchase is complete when payment is confirmed. If a payment fails or is charged twice, contact us and we will correct it. Refunds are governed by our Refund and Returns Policy.
5. 1-to-1 lessons
You can request a lesson at a time a curator has made available. A curator may accept or decline a request. Cancellations, rescheduling and refunds follow our Refund and Returns Policy. Be on time, respect the curator, and do not record a lesson without the curator’s permission. Lessons take place through a third-party video-meeting service and you are responsible for your own internet connection and device.
6. Content and intellectual property
Course videos, text, images and other materials belong to their creators or licensors. When you use Muzelle you receive a personal, non-transferable licence to view the content for your own learning. You may not copy, download, share, resell, publish or republish it without written permission.
7. Curators and contributors
Curators must be approved by Muzelle before they can publish. If you contribute content you confirm that:
- you own it or have the right to use and share it, including any museum images, recordings and archival material;
- it is accurate to the best of your knowledge and follows our Editorial Standards;
- it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break the law.
You keep ownership of your content and give Muzelle a non-exclusive licence to host, display, promote and deliver it on the platform. Muzelle keeps a commission on paid sales, as shown in your curator dashboard, and pays the rest to you using the payout details you provide. We may reject, edit, remove or suspend content or accounts that breach these terms or our standards.
8. Acceptable use
You must not:
- break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
- harass, abuse or discriminate against other users;
- share your account or let others use your membership;
- try to access accounts, data or systems you are not authorised to use;
- upload malicious code or interfere with how the platform works;
- copy or collect content or user information by automated means.
9. Copyright and content removal
If you believe content on Muzelle infringes your rights, follow the process on our Copyright & Content Removal page.
10. Educational content
Muzelle courses are for education and general interest. Curators express their own scholarship and views. We do not guarantee that every statement is complete or free of error, and courses are not a substitute for professional or legal advice.
11. Availability
We work to keep Muzelle available but cannot promise uninterrupted service. We may change, suspend or discontinue features, for example for maintenance or security.
12. Suspension and closing your account
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after warning you where reasonable. You can ask us to close your account at any time by emailing info@muzelle.org.
13. Our responsibility
Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, and as far as the law allows, Muzelle is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for the actions or content of curators and other users, or for problems caused by your device, network or payment provider. Our total liability to you for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
14. Privacy
How we handle personal information is explained in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. If you keep using Muzelle after a change, you accept the updated terms; for significant changes we will notify account holders.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Cameroon, and the courts of Cameroon have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
