Privacy Policy

Last updated: 24 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what personal information Muzelle collects, why we collect it, who we share it with and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the platform you confirm that you have read it.

1. Who we are

Muzelle is an online learning platform connecting learners with curators, historians and museum educators. This website is operated from First Trust Building, Great Soppo, Buea, Cameroon. You can contact us at info@museupath.com or +237 691 477 330.

2. Information we collect

Account information

Your name, username, email address and password (stored in encrypted form), and whether you have verified your email address.

Profile information

Optional details you add such as a profile photograph, biography, job title and timezone. Curator profile photographs and cover images are shown publicly only where the curator has given consent.

Orders and payments

The plan or product you buy, the amount in XAF, order dates, payment references and your phone number (required at checkout). Card and mobile money payments are handled by our payment provider IWOMIPAY and the relevant card network or mobile money operator. We do not receive or store your full card number, card security code or mobile money PIN.

Learning and booking activity

Courses you enrol in, your progress, 1-to-1 lesson requests, bookings and the times you choose.

Curator and instructor applications

If you apply to teach: your name, professional role, institution, country, phone number, professional profile link, academic portfolio, teaching experience, photograph and any documents you submit. Approved curators may also give payout details so that we can pay them their share of sales.

Messages and forms

Whatever you send us through the contact, instructor-application and topic-suggestion forms or by email.

Technical information

Your IP address, browser type, device information and security logs, and the cookies described in our Cookie Policy.

3. How we use your information

  • To create and secure your account and verify your email address.
  • To provide courses, memberships and 1-to-1 lessons, and to show your progress.
  • To process payments, send receipts and handle refunds.
  • To review curator applications and publish approved curator profiles.
  • To send service emails such as verification, password reset, receipts, booking updates and important notices about your account.
  • To answer your questions and support requests.
  • To protect the platform against fraud, abuse and unauthorised access.
  • To meet our legal and accounting obligations and to improve the platform.

4. Consent

Where the law requires your consent, such as for publishing a curator photograph, we ask for it and you can withdraw it at any time by contacting us. Withdrawing consent does not affect what we did before you withdrew it.

5. Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with:

  • IWOMIPAY and the card networks and mobile money operators that process your payment.
  • Mailjet, which delivers our emails.
  • Our website hosting provider and technical service providers who help us run and secure the platform.
  • The video-meeting service used for live 1-to-1 lessons.
  • The curator you book a lesson with, who sees your name and booking details for that lesson.
  • Public authorities or professional advisers when we are legally required to, or to protect our rights and users.

6. Public information

Curator names, biographies, approved photographs, courses and availability appear on public curator profiles. Do not put information in a public profile that you do not want others to see.

7. How long we keep information

  • Account and learning data: for as long as your account is open, and deleted or anonymised after you ask us to close it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
  • Orders and payment records: for the period required by Cameroonian accounting and tax rules.
  • Unsuccessful curator applications: normally deleted within 12 months of the decision.
  • Security logs: normally no longer than 12 months.

8. Security

We use encrypted connections (HTTPS), email verification, login protection and access controls. No online service is completely secure, so please use a strong, unique password and keep it private.

9. Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your personal information, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or withdraw your consent. Email info@museupath.com from the address on your account and we will reply within 30 days. You can also edit most profile details yourself from your dashboard. You may also complain to the data protection authority in Cameroon if you believe your rights have not been respected.

10. Children

Muzelle is intended for people aged 16 and over. If you are younger than 16 you may use the platform only with the permission and supervision of a parent or guardian. If you believe a child has given us personal information without permission, contact us and we will delete it.

11. Transfers outside Cameroon

Some of our service providers process information on servers outside Cameroon. We choose providers that apply appropriate safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will notify account holders of significant changes.
